'Winter at Carlton Marshes' was created for Suffolk Wildlife Trust as a design for one of their Christmas cards. But if they hadn't asked me, it would be the sort of place I would have been compelled to make a print of anyway! It is a very special place made up of meadows, wet grassland, reedbeds, marsh and woodland. I visited on one of the shortest days of the year and was spoilt for choice with different views and wildlife. I wanted to capture the feeling of the crisp cold day, combined with the glowing colours you get from the low setting sun.
